Privacy Policy

Push and Chat is a voice-first AI assistant for macOS and iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: we collect only what the product needs to work, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, whether with Apple, Google, or email and password, we store your email address, display name, and a unique account identifier. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
Voice audio. When you hold the talk key, your audio is streamed to our transcription provider and converted to text. The audio itself is not stored; the resulting transcript becomes part of your conversation history.
Screenshots. When you use the screenshot shortcut, the captured image is sent to our AI provider to generate your answer. Images are processed to answer your question and are not retained on our servers afterward.
Conversations. Your questions and the assistant's answers are stored so your history syncs across your devices.
Profile (optional). If you add "About you" details or upload a resume, we extract and store that profile text to personalize answers. You can edit or clear it in Settings at any time.
Usage data. Basic usage events (e.g. number of requests, timestamps) for quotas, abuse prevention, and improving the product.

What we don't collect

No advertising identifiers, no location data, no contacts, no tracking across other apps or websites. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple. We only receive your subscription status, never your payment information.

Service providers

To provide the service, some data is processed by trusted providers on our behalf, by category:

AI model providers. Your question text and any screenshot are sent to generate the answer.
A speech-to-text provider. Your voice audio is transcribed.
Cloud infrastructure providers. These host our servers, database, and cache.
Sign-in providers. Apple or Google, if you choose those sign-in methods.

These providers process data solely to deliver the service, are bound by their own security and confidentiality commitments, and provide protections equivalent to this policy. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual conversations in the app. Deleting your account removes your conversations, messages, settings, profile, and usage records from our systems. To delete your account, use the Delete Account option in the app's Settings, or email us and we'll do it for you.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. API access is authenticated per-user with short-lived signed tokens. Secrets and credentials are stored in a managed secret store, not in code.

Children

Push and Chat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
